The Limo Fire That Changed My Understanding of Politics
I’ve never been someone who was interested in politics. Now, it’s almost an obsession. Or, maybe I should say, I’m paying attention. Why am I paying attention more now? Because of a limo fire in 2016 in Washington, DC during the Trump presidential inauguration. There was clearly not a peaceful transfer of power as there had always been. The limo fire and protest shook me out of thinking that there would always be a peaceful transfer of power and I realized that my country had changed. I needed to know how and why it had changed. Consequently, I began to start paying attention to politics and current events. At the time, I didn’t realize “how deep the rabbit hole goes” (from the Matrix).
