Russia and Ukraine; Why Now?

In this video I used some information that may no longer be current as things and events are moving rapidly, however, I do believe that I covered some events that preceded and may be part of the cause but not all the reasons for the current events in Ukraine. As you can see in my video, I’m no expert regarding this region but I was able to find so interesting information that I didn’t know before looking for it. You may want to do your own search for information regarding this topic. There is a lot more information that I did not cover here.

Why does Putin want Ukraine?

Is it for their natural resources? (Why now)

Is it because he is looking to bring back the old Soviet Union?

Or, is it that he is just a really bad guy?

Questions I had:

Is Ukraine a democracy? No (also not a part of NATO but moving toward democracy).

Is Russia communist? No (also moving toward democracy and not part of NATO).

Is Russia a Christian nation? Yes (both Ukraine and Russia are probably Christian- although I’m not sure if they are practicing or more secular).

There has been an 8-year ongoing war.

Donbass Region: Lugansk and Donetsk (Breakaway regions) were declared to be independent republics.

Minsk Agreement

To start a dialogue on interim self-government for the Donetsk and Luhansk regions, in accordance with Ukrainian law, and acknowledge their special status by a resolution of parliament. (Never happened).
